Little Leprechaun

We didn’t do much around here for St. Patrick’s Day.  I’d bought 10 gold chocolate coins a few weeks earlier, so I hid those around the living room and set a pot, some green jingle bells, and a foam leprechaun hat outside of Alex’s bedroom door.

He found those when he woke, and I explained that I’d scared the leprechaun and he ran away so fast that he forgot his hat.  Alex wore the hat while running around the living room finding all the gold.  He was one excited little boy when I explained that the gold was really chocolate! :)

We hung some St. Patricks’ Day window clings. aMarch2011 016 (3)

We also read Gail Gibbons’ St. Patrick’s Day book to learn about the real St. Patrick.

A few days later, we used the wrappers from all the chocolate to make the “no mess pot of gold craft” that is now hanging in our kitchen.

And there you have it…our low-key St. Patrick’s Day!

Looks like fun!!! Sami was really upset a leprechaun didn't visit us...I'm guessing it was something she picked up at school because we've never done anything before but wear green. :/ Maybe next year that pesky leprechaun will visit us! Ha!
