Alex is 5 yrs, 6 months

We are using My Father’s World Kindergarten as our base,
adding in some of my own printables.

prekindergarten
This week, we are learning the letter Vv for vegetables.
Our Bible words are: God gives me all that I need.

Here’s what our table looks like when we’re working on MFW K and Max’s LHTH during our school time Smile Though we have a nice little school space upstairs, we enjoy using the kitchen so there’s plenty of space to spread out and work together!

I love Alex’s expression in reading, especially when he says “LOST?!”  He is really becoming quite the little reader, and we are so proud of him!

bible

We read Bible verses, reviewed the story of Elijah and the ravens, and talked about ways that God supplies all that we need.

This sweet boy is becoming quite the reader!  His confidence is building, and he’s reading Easy Readers to us!  GO ALEX!!

Oooh, he was NOT in the mood for handwriting on this day.  I was less than thrilled by his Vs.

 math

This week’s MFW K math page was about measurement.  Alex was using a ruler to “plant seeds” at the correct distance.  This was a little tricky for him, but he was able to do it with guidance.

Alex & Jensyn worked on our Melissa & Doug pattern block puzzles just for fun.
(These are an often-used toy in our home!)

science

We read several non fiction books about vegetables.

I really wanted to take a trip to the Farmers’ Market in our town, but it’s only open one afternoon per week.  Between weather and busy schedules, there just hasn’t been a good time to go. Sad smile

Just by coincidence, the kids were able to help cousin Emma in her vegetable garden last weekend…

art

Alex & Max (almost 4) did vegetable painting together.

I made a sample painting to show them what to do, and then I told the boys they could make any sort of picture they wanted using the vegetables as ‘stampers’.

My quick sample:

I tried playing a vegetable memory game with Alex, but he was not in a great mood.  I got a match before he did, he had a meltdown, and he has not wanted to play a game with me since then.  Sigh.

I deleted the Tot School section, but then I found this picture of a page that Max did:
