LHTH Unit 7 (Max’s School)

Max turned 4 years old during this unit!  We are using Little Hands To Heaven preschool program, which is adjustable for ages 2 – 5, by Heart of Dakota.  I’m trying to post enough to give you an accurate idea of what is covered in Little Hands To Heaven, yet leave it vague enough that you can’t use this post as a replacement for the teacher’s manual.  It’s full of fun ideas and activities to fill 20 – 30 minutes per day with active, creative learning that is centered on Christ.

Connecting uppercase & lowercase Fs,
Circling F/f in the poem

Moses took off his shoes because he was standing on holy ground, so we counted SHOES.

Max LOVED acting out the story of Baby Moses.  We took a walk along the Nile River (which looked surprisingly like our living room, ha ha) and discovered Baby Moses in a basket.  We took him “home” (the kitchen table) and cared for the baby by changing the diaper, wrapping baby in a blanket, and giving him a bottle while singing Jesus Loves Me.

Painting a letter F to hang on our letter wall.
We review the letters once of twice a week.  Max knows all of them in ABC order, but he still confuses a few letters if I randomly point to letters out of order.

The Teensiest Preschooler Smile

Jensyn has just started choosing to participate during school time.
She LOVES singing and attempting the fingerplays/rhymes with us every week!
